When a door closes, we open a new one for you.

It has been 16 years since Erik Vogelenzang de Jong built his own real estate office in his attic. As a young bird - there is no coincidence - the Rotterdammer decided to take a different tack than his real estate competitors. Based on the passion to stand out and to keep developing constantly, 2006 became Vogelenzang de Jong Makelaars's starting point. The rest is history.

Freedom and a new challenge. These are the words that were central to the establishment of Vogelenzang de Jong Makelaars. The first, cool assignments quickly came into play and nothing seemed to stand in the way of growth. And what do you do as you grow? Exactly. Gather the right people around you, who have the same vision and passion and who can sail the sails. His name is: Arnoud Adriaanse.

Just after Arnoud joined in 2008, also the year that Vogelenzang de Jong was officially allowed to call himself an NVM broker, the credit crisis occurred in the Netherlands. Despite the fact that things were not going well nationally, we made in an area where everything kept going. We were able to catch that at that time. This all still happened from Erik's home, where Arnoud usually got a cup of coffee from Mrs. Vogelenzang de Jong in the morning. “The customers actually really liked that. And even without the customers, I still look back on it as a very nice time”. After all, it doesn't get more personal than drawing purchase deeds at the dinner table.

We increasingly started to reap the benefits of the fact that the focus was really on people. “For you, the customer comes first” was one of the many sounds that underpinned the passion, enthusiasm and drive of our team. Putting people in the right home. That's what it was - and is - simply about.

In 2010, the first footsteps sounded in the office, which is still our home base today. Since then, the building has been modernized and the team has proudly expanded. For example, the stork “had another baby” with the arrival of Pascal in 2016 and 2017 was the year that “spider in the web” Madelon joined us. Since then, we've really become a family. It's not about running flat business, but about doing what we love together. By the way, that's not just buying and selling houses. The headlines at Vogelenzang de Jong are all sports enthusiasts - don't challenge us to play football (watching), kite surfing or mountain biking - and active people, which is clear from the unmistakable dynamics among themselves. Tip: don't start a Feyenoord-Ajax discussion either.

Since Ellen joined last year, with her unique care for processing files and more, things can't break at all. We really are a team and we don't do anything alone. When we sell a house, we, the whole team, sold a house.

2022 is the year that Vogelenzang de Jong Makelaars gets a new look. The market requires innovation and, as a passionate team, we are happy to meet the needs of the customer. Think of it as the same vision, but fresher. Innovation, without fear of it. As Erik says: “It can be different every day.” Coming up with something new over and over again and being able to serve the customer even better is what makes us happy. Don't dwell on the old, but live in the present. So enjoy the beautiful house that you can live in. Then we will continue to enjoy connecting the right people to the right homes.
